Independent luxury bespoke tailoring company Tailoring UK is to open a store in Kensington, Central London, after a flurry of orders gave it a break in the capital.

The Leicestershire-based business, which has made its name producing top-quality garments for businesspeople and celebrities, has selected a store location in South Kensington as a base for its expanding London operation.

After initially creating bespoke outfits for a number of business figures in the capital, orders from people wanting a high-quality, British-made bespoke suit from an alternative to Savile Row began to flood in.

“To date we have had around 45 contracts from a mixture of corporate and private clients in London,” explained Ketan Jethwa, owner and creative director of Tailoring UK.

“After having meetings about potentially working with large luxury department stores, it seems a natural progression for the business to have a shop in Central London. Up until now, we have been using offices in the One Canada Square tower in Canary Wharf.”

“The reception to our work in the capital has been tremendous, particularly when you consider the pedigree of the competition there.”

Tailoring UK expects to open its Kensington store, located on Harrington Road near the Natural History Museum, in December.
